Impact of the IMYM Project on Grade 6 Pilot Teachers: A Follow-up Report

6.0 Sharing the IMYM Model

6.1 Pilot Teacher Facilitation

IMYM pilot teachers were asked to describe how they continued to facilitate implementation of the IMYM model within their school and school division/district. Teachers reported conducting the following activities

  • presentations by IMYM teachers (N=10)
  • teacher training/inservicing (N=8)
  • divisional inservices on the IMYM model (N=6)
  • creation of a classroom website (N=5)
  • hosting visitations to the IMYM classroom (by other teachers, teachers from other schools and/or divisions/districts, parents, school board members, and administration) (N=5)
  • sharing IMYM learning resources/information technology/software (N=5)
  • student multimedia presentations to school board (N=1)
  • school inservices on the IMYM model (N=1)

6.2 Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

IMYM pilot teachers were asked what other classes, if any, in the school had access to the IMYM hardware and software. They reported the following users

  • other grade 6 classes/students (N=13)
  • other teachers (N=9)
  • students at other grade levels (N=9)
  • last year's IMYM students (N=7)
