Classroom Teaching Certificate
A valid Manitoba teaching certificate must be held in order to be employed as professional school personnel in Manitoba. You must apply for a teaching certificate.
The appropriate application can be filled in online but must be printed and signed by the applicant. Ensure all areas of the application are completed and the required documents are included before sending the application to the Professional Certification Unit.
- Are you graduating from a Manitoba Bachelor of Education program this year?
- Are you a certified teacher in another province within Canada?
- Are you or have you completed a Technical Vocational Teacher Diploma?
- Are you an Internationally Educated Teacher?

Professional Certification Service Rates
Effective July 5, 2017, new rates apply to services related to teacher and clinician certification. The new rates are published in the Education Certificates, Transcripts and Miscellaneous Fees Regulation.
Winnipeg Police Service On-line Criminal Records Checks with Vulnerable Sector Screening now accepted
Effective February 1, 2017, certification applicants who are residents of Winnipeg may choose to use the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) ePIC system to provide a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening with their application for certification. Requirement for Internationally Educated Teachers
Effective July 1, 2016, Internationally Educated Applicants applying for a teaching certificate in Manitoba must first obtain an assessment of their academic credentials from World Education Services (WES). Please visit the Internationally Educated Teacher webpage for more information.
