What's New

Manitoba government issued a call for applications to parents/caregivers of students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 publicly funded schools and has reached out to the education system, Indigenous leaders, and inter-sectoral partners to recommend individuals to join the Council.

The Commitment

The council will provide strategic guidance on the implementation of the action plan; create a forum to raise, discuss, and plan for issues facing children, families, teachers, school staff, and early childhood educators; advise how Manitoba can improve student achievement and well-being across the education sector; and, promote inter-sectoral engagement, collaboration, and partnership.

What This Means for Manitobans

The Education Council provides a structured forum for educational partners and others who have a vested interest in the success and future of Manitoba’s children and youth in order to share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on continuous improvement that enhances student achievement and well-being.
