Manitoba Education

Rural and Northern Development Initiative

The purpose of Manitoba Education’s Rural and Northern Clinician Bursary is to support the recruitment and retention of staff in specialized professions and hard to fill geographic areas.

Toward this end, Manitoba Education is providing bursary assistance to support training of existing teachers or local university students who are willing to obtain further training in speech-language pathology, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or other specialty areas such as interpreter tutors.

In return for receiving the bursary, individuals agree to work in a school division for two years upon graduation.

Below you will find the latest information sent to school divisions, the bursary application, and other pertinent information.
