Adult Learning and Literacy

There are many reasons for returning to learning. Maybe your goal is to:

  • Build everyday reading and math skills
  • Earn a high school diploma
  • Complete high school credits to prepare for college or university
  • Get a job

Whatever your reason for returning to learning, support is available through Adult Learning Centres and Adult Literacy Programs across Manitoba.

Adult Learning and Literacy administers and supports the delivery of adult-focused programming through Adult Learning Centres and Adult Literacy Programs. This programming supports Manitobans to strengthen their reading, writing, and numeracy skills for daily life, and to earn high school credentials that support access to further education and improved employment opportunities.

In addition to registering and funding adult programming, Adult Learning and Literacy also administers the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) Testing Service. The CAEC leads to a high school equivalency certificate in Manitoba that is recognized by most employers and accepted for employment, apprenticeship admission, and other training programs (program entry and prerequisite requirements may vary).
