Please note the following when using the registry:

  • The registry is best viewed on a desktop computer.
  • It is updated weekly, every Monday morning.
  • To view certification details:
    • Use the search buttons to locate a name.
    • Click on the name, then select “View Certification Details.”
  • If you are provisionally or permanently certified, your name will appear in the registry.
  • If a requested salary reclassification has been evaluated, your salary class will be displayed on the right-hand side.
  • If a request for a specialist certificate has been evaluated, the new certificate will be listed.
  • Any changes to your certification status will also be reflected.

NEW! Effective November 18th, 2024 - For all Internationally Educated Teachers

Manitoba Professional Certification Unit is excited to announce the launch of Pathways to Teach Canada. This new service is the single-entry point and the first step for Internationally Educated Teachers interested in obtaining a teaching certificate in participating provinces and territories, including Manitoba Professional Certification Unit.

Pathways to Teach Canada offers a streamlined process, enabling Internationally Educated Teachers to have their credentials and language competency evaluated and sent to one or more participating provinces or territories where they want to apply for certification.

Note: Pathways to Teach Canada’s language proficiency assessment is currently the only approved language proficiency test accepted by the department for teaching in accordance with the October 24, 2024 amendments to the Teaching Certificates and Qualifications Regulation M.R. 115/2015.

Effective November 12, 2024, all applicants for teaching and clinician certificates will be required to complete an approved sexual abuse prevention program in order to be eligible for certification.

The two programs currently approved by the Minister of Education and Early Childhood learning for this purpose are:

The applicant must complete at least one of the two programs and attach the certificate of completion to the application package.

Professional school personnel include the classroom teacher, school clinician, school administrator, inclusive education teacher, inclusive education coordinator, school counsellor, and vocational teacher.

Certification of Professional School Personnel is a provincial responsibility therefore the requirements for certification differ from province to province.

A valid Manitoba Teaching or School Clinician Certificate is required to be employed as professional school personnel in Manitoba.

Manitoba Education System

Teaching is a regulated profession in Canada. Each province and territory has its own regulator and certification requirements.

The Professional Certification Unit (PCU) receives all applications for certification in Manitoba as a teacher or a school clinician.

Manitoba teaching and school clinician certification requirements are outlined in the Teaching Certificates and Qualifications Regulation 115/2015 of the Education Administration Act.

Fees for teaching and school clinician certification services are outlined in the Education Certificates, Transcripts and Miscellaneous Fees Regulation 86/2010.
