Grade 11 Essential Mathematics learners in Half Course IV will develop critical-thinking skills by analyzing puzzles and games involving numerical reasoning. They will develop an understanding of managing money by creating personal budgets and by demonstrating an understanding of financial institution services. Learners will develop proportional reasoning as they demonstrate an understanding of slope, linear relations, scale, and unit of analysis, and they will learn about manipulating and applying formulas related to slope and rate of change. They will develop spatial sense involving triangles by using trigonometry, and they will model, draw, and describe objects and their views.
The Guiding Principles for the Design of Learning Experiences and Assessment Practices provide guidance to all Manitoba educators as they design learning experiences and classroom assessments to strengthen, extend, and expand student learning.
