Alternate Formats Collection for Students with Perceptual Disabilities

Alternate Formats Collection Catalogue

The Alternate Formats Collection catalogue is a listing of alternate format materials housed on the 2nd floor of 1181 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg and in our online collection. Alternate formats include braille, large print, audiobooks (mp3 download or CD) and electronic text (pdf, word, epub).

These materials are produced to supplement or replace regular print text for students who have been assessed as having a perceptual disability. Materials are available only to eligible students.

Materials not available in our collection may be available for loan through our interlibrary loan agreement with The Canadian Association of Educational Resource Centres for Alternate Format Materials (CAER) and other alternate format collections.

To borrow materials, an educational professional (e.g. classroom / resource teacher, consultant) must register eligible students with the Alternate Formats Collection.

Please see the Forms page for details on how to register a student and how to place a resource request.
