Classroom Teaching Certificate

A valid Manitoba teaching certificate must be held in order to be employed as professional school personnel in Manitoba. You must apply for a teaching certificate.

The appropriate application can be filled in online but must be printed and signed by the applicant. Ensure all areas of the application are completed and the required documents are included before sending the application to the Professional Certification and Student Records Unit.

WARNING: a certification application will remain open for twelve months from the date it is first received.  If all documentation required from the applicant is not provided within twelve months, the application will be closed. There will be no refund of the application fee in this circumstance.

Requirement for Internationally Educated Teachers
Effective July 1, 2016

Effective July 1, 2016, Internationally Educated Applicants applying for a teaching certificate in Manitoba must first obtain an assessment of their academic credentials from World Education Services (WES). Please visit the Internationally Educated Teacher webpage for more information.
