Reflective Questions for Teachers

How do we design opportunities for evaluation so that we

  • know and understand who the learner is, using a universal design lens?
  • maximize learning by using universal design principles in all planning processes?
  • create a sense of belonging, trust, and safety to support the unique needs of the learner?
  • honour learners’ unique identities (strengths, abilities, experiences, cultures, and languages)?
  • position learners as co-constructors of criteria for assessment and evaluation where possible?
  • empower voice and honour choice in how learners demonstrate their achievement of targeted learning outcomes, including processes and products?
  • assist learners to connect their learning experiences and results to their growth and progress
  • provide opportunities for learners to reflect on the development of their global competencies?
