HIGH SCHOOL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

The High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) lets students start an apprenticeship while still in high school. It links regular Senior Years school instruction with on-the-job apprenticeship training.

To start apprenticeship training in a trade while attending high school, Grade 11 or Grade 12 students must be at least 16 years old. They can earn a maximum of 8 credits toward graduation while collecting apprenticeship hours. These hours can be used towards continued apprenticeship training after high school graduation.

For more information on Senior Years Technology Education and the High School Apprenticeship Program, contact the school guidance counsellor or visit the Senior Years Technology Education page.
