Evaluation is based on curricular learning outcomes or individualized learning goals for student-specific programming. These learning outcomes drive instruction and are connected to daily learning experiences and assessment practices. It is essential to shift the focus of evaluation from compliance, completion, and correctness to evaluating the quality of student learning using meaningful tasks and performance, considering learning outcomes and the global competencies. Evaluation needs to be an accurate description of learner competence in relation to learning outcomes or learner goals. When specific learning criteria related to these learning outcomes are clearly identified and understood, learners have a better understanding of how to demonstrate their proficiency, and communication of their learning becomes more meaningful.
