The Framework for Learning is the blueprint on which essential elements of learning and teaching in Manitoba are organized. The Framework creates one access point for educators to find curriculum and curriculum implementation resources, and to access policy and resources related to assessment, evaluation, and reporting for the English, Français, French Immersion, and Senior Years Technology Education programs.

Grade 9 Math: Two new Grade 9 Mathematics courses, incorporating an enhanced focus on financial literacy, are posted for pilot and voluntary implementation in 2026/27, with full implementation planned for school year 2027/28.
Language Arts: The Grade 9 to 12 English Language Arts (English Program) curriculum is posted for full implementation in 2026/27.
The K to 8 English Language Arts (English Program) curriculum is in pilot in 2026/27.
The Grade 1 to 8 English Language Arts (French Immersion Program) and K to 8 Français arts langagiers (French Immersion Program) curriculum are both in a second year of piloting in 2026/27.
K to 12 Physical Education / Health Education (PHE): The renewed K to 12 PHE curriculum is in voluntary pilot implementation in 2026/27.
A new policy on mandatory in-person PHE classes for Grade 11 and 12 students has also been announced to help every student develop lifelong habits of physical fitness. School divisions will strive to fulfill this new requirement in 2026/27, with full implementation in 2027/28.
K to 10 Science: The renewed K to 10 Science curriculum has been finalized and posted for full implementation in the 2026/27 school year.
Applied Technology: The renewed Applied Technology curriculum is in pilot and voluntary implementation in 2026/27. Contact tve@gov.mb.ca for a copy of the curriculum.
Grade 12 Land and Treaties: Relationships and Responsibilities: Posted in draft in the 2025/26 school year, the optional Land and Treaties course is in pilot and voluntary implementation in school year 2026/27.

Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning has released the renewed Manitoba Provincial Report Card Policy (2026), providing updated guidance on the communication of grading, reporting and student learning in Grades 1 to 12.
The renewed policy includes instructions for reporting early reading screening results, updated guidance related to appropriate educational programming, and further updates to support clear, consistent and curriculum-aligned reporting of student learning.
The renewed policy, aligned with the updates to provincial report card templates for the 2026/27 school year, is available on the department website.

The Winnipeg Free Press Media Literacy and Learning Project has been named a finalist for an International News Media Association (INMA) Global Media Award in the Best Public Relations or Community Service Campaign category. Selected from more than 900 entries worldwide, the project is shortlisted alongside nominees from the United States, India, Austria and Belgium. Winners will be announced next month at the INMA conference in Berlin. More information is available at the International News Media Association website.
