The Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures Task Force Report recommended that the Grades 11 and 12 PE/HE curriculum be ready for implementation before the fall of 2008. Schools/Divisions are required to use the Implementation of Grades 11 and 12 Physical Education/Health Education: A Policy Document and implement the changes related to Grade 11 and 12 PE/HE according to the following timelines:

    As of September 2008, system-wide implementation

    As of September 2008, system-wide implementation

This policy document provides direction for the implementation of the Grades 11 and 12 Physical Education/Health Education (PE/HE) credits, and addresses the following areas:

  • Implementation Timelines
  • Credit Requirements for Graduation
  • Curriculum Design and IN-Class and OUT-of-Class Delivery Model
  • Safety and Liability for OUT-of-Class Delivery Model
  • Evaluating and Reporting the Grades 11 and 12 PE/HE Credits
  • Roles and Responsibilities

The Grades 11 and 12 PE/HE curriculum is currently under development. Expected release date is Spring 2008.
