The purpose of Scheduling Kindergarten to Grade 8 Physical Education/Health Education: A Resource for School Administrators is to serve as an idea bank or collection of strategies for meeting class time specifications. Administrators may find this document useful when planning to implement the following mandated K-8 PE/HE curriculum time allocations that come into effect in September 2007.

  • Kindergarten to Grade 6: 11% of the instructional time with a 75%/25% split for physical education and health education outcomes respectively.
  • Grades 7 and 8: 9% of the instructional time with a 75%/25% split for physical education and health education outcomes respectively.
