Early Numeracy Initiative (ENI)

Funding is provided to assist school divisions with the design and implementation of early numeracy programming that will increase the mathematical proficiency of all Kindergarten to Grade 4 students, with an emphasis on low-achieving students in early years. Funding is calculated as $15 per eligible pupil in Kindergarten to Grade 4 at September 30, 2010.

This grant is included in the 2011/2012 Categorical Grant Review Financial Report that school divisions are required to submit by October 31, 2011 as part of the Revised Categorical Grant/Divisional and School Plan Reporting Processes. Unexpended grant amounts from 2011/2012, if any, will be applied as a reduction to the funding allocation calculated for 2012/2013.
