Subject: A Chance to Share the IMYM Model in Your Classroom with Your Colleagues as a ManACE Presenter for SAG 2003!!

Hi IMYM teachers,

Are you interested in sharing your experience as an IMYM teacher? Then consider hosting a workshop at next year's SAG day on October 24!

There are many teachers who are already using technology in computer labs who would like to experience what it is like to bring computers into their classrooms.
* They want to hear about your experience in organizing learning centres and collaborative learning with your students.
* They want to spend some time in your classroom to see how you have set it up and how you schedule your learning centres both with and without computers.
* They want to hear about your grouping strategies and how you teach your students to work not only individually but as part of a group.
* They want to ask you about your assessment practices and how you evaluate different aspects of one process or product in more than one subject area.
* They want to know if you work alone or if you team with another teacher and what the benefits and challenges are when you plan together.

There is so much of your teaching practice that you can share with other Manitoba teachers! Please consider offering to host a SAG session on the IMYM model. I will help you organize this session and can provide you with materials to use in the session and to give to your participants. I will also create an IMYM SAG website that you can use during your session and that your particpants can continue to use after the day of the session.

On top of this, ManACE will pay you an honorarium of $125.00. You can also involve your teaching partner or another colleague as a co-facilitator and they will receive $75.00 (see information below).

Your session will take place in your classroom, and we are looking for classrooms all over Manitoba. This is a perfect opportunity to give back to the education community and to mentor other teachers. In fact, you will learn a lot from your participants as well!

Please give this idea your serious consideration and contact both me and ManACE if you are interested.
