Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Play Structure Fund 2026-2027
A new three million dollar Play Structure Fund, investing in safer, more accessible and high-quality play spaces for public schools was introduced in Budget 2026. The Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Play Structure Fund is an application-based fund available to Manitoba school divisions.
The new fund is intended to help reduce fundraising pressures on parent councils and provide support to school divisions as they transition to budgeting for playground construction and replacement projects. Under the program, the province provides funding for up to 75 per cent of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $100,000 per project.
For the 2026/2027 budget year, a total of 38 playground projects will receive support across Manitoba through the new fund. For a full list, see Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Play Structure Fund (

In addition, five playground projects are included at recently built schools funded through school capital project budgets. These are:
