Blackboard Help

Manitoba Education uses a Learning Management System called Blackboard Learn.

Students and teachers need a computer with internet access.  The computer must then be properly configured to work in Blackboard.

If you encounter problems with Blackboard, check your browser's settings to make sure that:

Some courses may require the installation of third party plug-ins such as Adobe Flash, Windows Media Player, Quicktime and others.

Other courses may require students to download software that is specific to the content. These courses have a Course Software area which lists the software needed.

Students on school computers and networks may have to get help from their local computer technician in order to change the settings.

Other than the browser settings, the following may also affect the operation of Blackboard:

  • Firewall settings and filters
  • Antivirus and other security software settings
  • Router configurations and settings
  • Network and proxy server settings
  • Local network traffic
  • General internet traffic and bandwidth available
  • Age of computer/hardware
