“Science is the language of the future. It is the door through which technology advances and medicine progresses, and our entire country will ultimately rely upon it if we wish to maintain our economic standing in the world. Our youth need to become excited by the adventure of discovering the unknown.”

Providing science grants to schools to support student activity

Middle Years Experiential Learning Grant
This grant helps Manitoba school divisions establish projects that strengthen students’ connections to school. It can potentially provide experiential learning opportunities that help students apply their science lessons in their daily lives.

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Grants
Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning and Manitoba Hydro have offered grants of up to $2,000 to help teachers and schools incorporate sustainable development themes into their curricula. Manitoba also provides grants to school divisions (funding formulae of up to $700 per school) to ensure school policies, programs and support. These grants provide tremendous opportunities to teachers to address science, technology, society and Environment (STSE) connexions).
