Arts Education Grant 2019

Schools are invited to apply for a grant in support of 2019 school projects to inspire artistic creation among students in dance, dramatic arts, music and visual arts. The intent of the program is to help schools engage professional artists to work with teachers and students on projects that encourage students to express themselves through arts creation. Successful schools will receive grants of up to $500 to help cover costs of the professional artists, contingent upon the availability of funding. Grants are not intended for costs associated with transportation, lodging, and/or materials, equipment or instruments.

Selection Criteria:

  • Design a dance, dramatic arts, music, visual arts, or integrated arts learning experience in which students generate, develop, refine, and share their ideas for arts creations.
  • Focus the learning experience on the Creative Expression (Kindergarten to Grade 8) or the Creating (Grades 9 to 12) essential learning areas of the Arts curriculum frameworks: dance, dramatic arts, music and visual arts.
  • Collaborate with a professional artist or artists to support curricular learning in arts creation.
  • Complete the Grant Application Form and submit it by Friday, October 25th, 2019.
