Students develop facility with dance techniques.

 

Students who have achieved expectations for this grade are able to

demonstrate basic locomotor skills
(include: walk, run, hop, jump, leap, slide, gallop, and skip)

K-1 DA-L2.2

perform variations of basic locomotor skills (e.g., walk lightly at a high level, slide diagonally, run in a curved pathway) in dance experiences, individually and with a partner

2 DA-L2.2

perform dance sequences combining variations of locomotor skills

3-4 DA-L2.2

dance in a variety of formations (e.g., trios, small groups, circles, squares, parallel lines)

3-4 DA-L2.3

perform a variety of simple dance steps (e.g., step-hop, schottische, prance, triplet, grapevine, polonaise)

3-4 DA-L2.4

demonstrate basic axial movement skills in a variety of dance experiences
(include: bend/flex, stretch/extend, swing, and twist/rotate)
