One of the innovative approaches undertaken by the Mountain View School Division has been the establishment of a help line to support parents/guardians during this challenging time. This help line provides stress-management support, coping skills, and advice for parents/guardians on how to talk with their children about COVID-19. Parents/guardians can access support from divisional clinicians, including social workers, via phone or online. Once information is received, the clinicians connect with parents/guardians to provide support or direct them to additional supports within the community or within the student’s catchment-area school, such as the resource teacher, guidance counsellor, classroom teacher, or school administrator.

The help line has enabled the divisional educational services team to remain meaningfully involved in the lives of families in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The help line information can be accessed on the Mountain View School Division website.

If you are a parent or guardian in the Mountain View School Division and need support, call 204-638-2250 or complete an online form on the website and a clinician will be in contact with you at the earliest opportunity. Clinicians will be available Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for help line support requests.
