In Manitoba, as in Canada, certain professions are regulated. Professional regulatory bodies set standards and enforce the regulations of their profession. Chartered Professional Accountants Manitoba
On September 1, 2015 the Chartered Professional Accountants Act of Manitoba was proclaimed. The Act establishes the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Manitoba. The Act legislates numerous functions for CPA Manitoba, including the ability to:
- Establish standards of academic and other qualifications required for registration as a member, candidate, or student
- Issue certificates of registration to its members
- Regulate the use of the designation ‘Chartered Professional Accountant’, ‘CPA’, and other related versions
As an international student, you should be aware that you can only enroll in CPA programs designated by Manitoba. This ensures compliance with your study permit conditions and protects you under the International Education Act.
