Pick Your Program: Elementary to High School

Manitoba schools teach students age 5 to 19 in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Highly qualified, energetic and committed teachers and principals work with each student.

Teachers and support staff recognize that students are entering Manitoba schools with different levels of English or French language proficiency and work with each student to build their language skills. By creating a welcoming and safe learning environment, teachers inspire and encourage students of all ages to reach their full potential.

In high school, you can choose to follow 1 of 4 streams: English, français, French Immersion, or technology education. By combining compulsory and elective courses, you can create your own balanced and challenging program.

In addition to academic programs, schools offer extracurricular activities such as music, sports, art, drama, student government, and hobby clubs. All Manitoba high schools prepare students aged 14 to 19 years old for post-secondary education, training or employment after graduation.

Both public and funded independent schools (private schools) teach the Manitoba curriculum. Public schools are provincially funded and offer high quality courses developed by the Manitoba Government.

Funded independent schools receive both public and private funds, teaching courses within the Manitoba curriculum as well as specialized courses.
