F1 in Schools
The second annual Manitoba F1 in Schools competition will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Engineering - Atrium. TVI is again a sponsor of the event!
Last year's winning team competed at the Canadian Nationals in Toronto, where they placed third. Subsequently the team formed a collaboration team with an Australian school (AC Racing) and competed at the world competition in London, English in September 2009. AC Racing placed third, an outstanding achievement for a first time effort.

Curriculum
The technical vocational program curriculum review and renewal process continues to move forward. The aim is to renew exisiting curricula to ensure currency and relevance to labour market needs. Additional objectives are to promote student engagement, provide consistency in core competencies, and facilitate program articulation. The programs will have eight core courses (program cluster requirement), along with one optional course at the Grade 9 level. Criteria for additional, locally developed courses (LDCs) are also being developed.
