Intersectoral Initiatives

Children's Therapy Initiative
The Children’s Therapy Initiative is a joint initiative of the provincial government partners of Education, Citizenship and Youth, Family Services and Housing, Health/Healthy Living, and Healthy Child Manitoba. The Children’s Therapy Initiative includes all children from birth to 21 years of age requiring audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and or speech-language pathology services.
Unified Referral and Intake System (URIS)
URIS funding is available for students who require one or more complex medical procedures that must be performed by a registered nurse.
Emotional/Behavioural Disorders (EBD) Level III
A multisystem committee with representatives from Education, Citizenship and Youth, Family Services and Housing, Health, and Justice evaluate the Coordinated Multisystem Plans and make final recommendations for funding. Eligibility for funding is based on the severity of the emotional/behavioural disorder, the extent of involvement by the school and outside agency (agencies), and the development of a Coordinated Multisystem Plan based on common shared service goals.
