Curriculum Information for Parents

Manitoba's Senior Years or high school programming comprises four grades – Grades 9 to 12. To graduate, students must achieve a minimum number of credits over the four years. Of that number, some are compulsory. Students have several options in selecting courses to satisfy the other credits, earned by successfully completing optional courses.

Students seeking to graduate in:

  • 2007–08 require a minimum of 28 credits
  • 2008–09 require a minimum of 29 credits
  • 2009–10 and beyond require a minimum of 30 credits

This increase is a result of the recent addition of one compulsory physical education/health education (PE/HE) credit at each of the Grade 11 and Grade 12 levels.
