Show Me the Continuum

The Literacy with ICT Developmental Continuum respects the literacy of all students. Regardless of abilities or learning contexts, all learners see themselves somewhere on the continuum and self-assess, at a glance, where they need to build their literacy with ICT. Using the Literacy with ICT Developmental Continuum as a lens, all learners see themselves as literate learners on the road to lifelong literacy.

In this section you will see, at your fingertips, interactive versions of the continuum and how all the pieces fit together.

The Continuum includes examples and links to supporting skills and sample learning experiences. The student-friendly version is designed for use with students for self-assessment and parents for conferencing.

The four Snapshots represent targets along the road of literacy with ICT as learners move from emerging to developing to transitioning to expanding stages.

The Supporting Skills are information and communication technology (ICT) skills that support the continuum descriptors.
