Funding

On Monday, January 29, 2007, as part of the 2007-08 Public Schools Funding Announcement, Education, Citizenship and Youth Minister Peter Bjornson announced an increase of $1.3 million in professional development funding to assist with meeting the commitment of improving information and communication technology literacy for all kindergarten to Grade 8 students. Highlights and further details on this new Funding of Schools 2007-2008 School Year ( 284 KB) state that

"A new component of Professional Development Support is introduced to support the Literacy with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Across the Curriculum Initiative. Support is the greater of $10 per eligible pupil in Kindergarten to Grade 8 or $15,000 to assist divisions with the training of teachers to incorporate technology into the curriculum and reporting student outcomes to parents."
