Funding
On Monday, January 29, 2007, as part of the 2007-08 Public Schools Funding Announcement, Education, Citizenship and Youth Minister Peter Bjornson announced an increase of $1.3 million in professional development funding to assist with meeting the commitment of improving information and communication technology literacy for all kindergarten to Grade 8 students. Highlights and further details on this new Funding of Schools 2007-2008 School Year (

"A new component of Professional Development Support is introduced to support the Literacy with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Across the Curriculum Initiative. Support is the greater of $10 per eligible pupil in Kindergarten to Grade 8 or $15,000 to assist divisions with the training of teachers to incorporate technology into the curriculum and reporting student outcomes to parents."
