Special Needs Level II/III Funding

Special Needs Funding is available for students who require and receive extensive supports based on a comprehensive educational needs assessment. This support is provided at the three levels described in the links on the right.

School divisions/districts are required to provide specific information when submitting applications for Level III Support to implement the school component of multisystem education/treatment plans for students with profound emotional/behavioural disorders and for students who are medically stable due to technology. These plans must be developed through school and interagency collaboration. Refer to the link on the right for guidelines for submitting a Coordinated Multisystem Applications (Circle of Care) for students with profound emotional/behavioural disorders.  Refer to section 4 of the URIS Policy and Procedure Manual for assistance when submitting a multisystem application  for students who are medically stable due to technology.
