Determination of Eligibility for Funding and the Application Process -- September 30th

At Manitoba Education:

Prescreening:

  • Date stamp Funding Application and Divisional Summary form upon receipt from school division.
  • Review summary form to ensure all information is complete.
  • Verify that all applications listed on the Divisional Summary form are included in the package sent to the Department.
  • Verify that all applications are complete with required signatures and cost statements for Level III applications.
  • Contact Student Services Administrator if package is incomplete. Return unsigned applications and unnecessary documentation to school division. The applications will be processed when all required information is submitted to the Department.
  • Document EBD Level III and URIS Level III applications and send to their respective committees.
  • Forward complete school division funding package to Funding Review Team for processing.

Determination of Eligibility:

  • Read each application to determine funding eligibility, based on special needs categorical funding criteria.
  • Request additional information as required to assist in the determination of eligibility.
  • Determine eligibility and number of years of funding.
  • Provide a rationale for all applications declined.

Communication of Results:

  • Upon completion of the entire school division's applications, including those applications for which additional information is requested, the final funding results will be provided in written format to the Student Services Administrator.
  • Adjustments in the funding results will be aligned with the September 30 enrollment deadline.
  • A final report reflecting current student enrollment status will be sent in December.
