Media Duplication Services

 

Media Duplication Information

Instructional Resources Unit currently has the duplication rights to approximately 1350 video recordings and 225 prepackaged multiple title video recordings. One series, CBC News in Review, 2008/09 is available for duplication in DVD or video format.  The Media Duplication Services of the Library serves Kindergarten to Grade 12 teachers, administrators and school library personnel. Other education-related professionals in Manitoba; teachers-in-training and the chairperson or designate of a school’s Advisory Council for School Leadership or Parent Council are also eligible.

Note: Independent Study Program students must purchase programs directly from the Distance Learning Unit (Phone: 204-325-1700 or 1-800-465-9915)

To receive copies of these programs, requests must be sent to the Media Duplication Services using the Media Duplication Order Forms.

For a list of video titles, visit our Online Catalogue, check SCOPE "Video Duplication Titles", enter your word(s) to search and select SEARCH.

  • The Media Duplication Services supplies a high quality videotape or DVD. Blank tapes or DVDs will not be accepted.
  • The Media Duplication Services dubs video recordings only in VHS format at SP (Standard Play) mode.
  • A maximum of two programs with a total recorded time of 60 minutes or less is allowed per tape. Exceptions are pre-packaged multiple title videos (VT-8000 series) which may not be combined. A list of pre-packaged programs can be found at: VT-8001-8099, VT-8100-8199, and VT-8200-8299
  • The duplication fee is $15.00 per tape, with the exception of Glorious and Free, which is $18.00 and Copy Right! , which is $19.00. The fees include a high quality T-60 tape, handling fees, the 7% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) and the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • Payment may be made using your school division/district MTBB account, VISA or MasterCard, school division/district purchase order, cheque, money order or cash. Payment MUST accompany the order.
  • Send orders to the Library’s Media Duplication Services, not to the Manitoba Text Book Bureau.
  • A FAX of a purchase order will be treated as an original.  Do not send the original after the FAX has been sent.
  • Written copyright permission must accompany any school-supplied master tape sent for duplication.
