Curricular Materials Grant for Public
and Funded Independent Schools

The Grant 2005/2006

Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth provides school divisions/districts and schools with a Curricular Materials Grant of $55.00 per eligible pupil. To allow schools greater flexibility in the use of the Curricular Materials Grant, a discretionary portion of the Grant--$25.00 per eligible pupil--is paid directly to public school divisions/districts and to funded independent schools. This portion can be used to purchase learning resources from any source, including the Manitoba Text Book Bureau (MTBB). The remaining $30.00 balance of the Grant will be retained as a credit solely for the purchase of curricular materials through MTBB. These Grant funds can be accessed only by ordering materials through MTBB.

Schools are encouraged to use their $30.00 per pupil portion of the Grant on curriculum-matched learning resources. These learning resources have been evaluated through Western Canadian Protocol (WCP) and provincial reviews. All WCP-designated and Manitoba-recommended learning resources are available from stock carried at MTBB. These curriculum-matched learning resources represent excellent value.
