The Instructional Resources Unit loans a variety of resources to Manitoba educators. Items can be requested in person, by phone, mail, fax or electronic mail. Resources
Reference and Information Services supports the research, teaching and professional learning needs of Manitoba's Kindergarten through Grade 12 educators through the provision of instruction in using library resources, research assistance, bibliography creation and by offering workshops in the use of the library, electronic resources, and copyright issues.
The collection consists of books, videocassettes, films, kits, audiocassettes, CD-ROMs, DVDs, journals, government publications and a variety of electronic resources.

The Library's Alternate Format Collection supports the education of students who are print disabled (Blind/Visually Impaired, Physically Disabled, Learning Disabled) by providing books in alternate formats, including audio books (cassettes or MP3), Braille, large print and electronic text. Through the interlibrary loan service, materials are also requested from other centres for the print disabled in Canada, to authorized borrowers who are registered with these centres.
