The Library serves educators within Manitoba:

  • teachers and library personnel - Kindergarten to Grade 12
  • school administrators, superintendents and trustees
  • personnel in education-related associations
  • chairperson or designate of a school's Advisory Council for School Leadership or Parent Council
  • post-secondary students in education-related programs
  • staff within Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth
  • teachers in community-based language schools
  • members of Manitoba's ethnocultural communities
  • home schools

The Library reserves the right to request identification for registration purposes and to use other sources (Education Information System, University registration files, Home School enrolment file) to verify address, work location and/or eligibility for Library privileges. This information is strictly for the internal use of the Instructional Resources Unit and will remain confidential.

Different patron groups may be assigned different borrowing limits and/or restrictions as per the Library's Circulation Policies, and the Media Duplication Services Information.

The general public may use the Library's resources in-house and can borrow resources, where copyright permits, through interlibrary loan.
