Minister's Awards
Nomination Process
The following persons can nominate or endorse the nomination of an eligible educator:
- student
- parent/legal guardian
- trustee
- teacher colleague
- school administrator
- school division administrator
Please note that either the nominator or the endorser must be an educator from the nominee’s school or an administrator from the nominee's school division. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Award recipients can be renominated after a five-year period.
The nominator is responsible to coordinate the nomination process by:
- identifying a nominee
- completing the Award Nomination and Endorsement Form (as the nominator)
- completing the appropriate Nomination Support Form
- identifying an endorser such as a colleague, parent, administrator, etc. who will support the nomination and complete the Award Nomination and Endorsement Form as well as the Nomination Support Form (as the endorser)
- asking the award nominee to sign the Nomination Consent Form
- obtaining a copy of the award nominee’s valid permanent Manitoba teaching certificate
- obtaining a letter of support (on school or school division letterhead) from the award nominee’s supervisor, other than the nominator or endorser, confirming and supporting the nomination
Nominators are responsible to provide a complete nomination package with all appropriate forms in hard copy format by the submission deadline.
