Dear Colleagues:

RE: Senior 1 to Senior 4 Mature Student Graduation Requirements (2003)

The document entitled Senior 1 to Senior 4 Mature Student Graduation Requirements: A Handbook for School Divisions/Districts was initially released in 1999. Since that time there have been a number of minor modifications made to the policy, as well as a number of changes in other areas of school programs policy, that affect the Mature Student diploma. In order to ensure that the Mature Student policy remains in alignment with current school programming and Adult Learning Centre policy, and to clarify some areas of ambiguity in the original policy, it was necessary to revise the 1999 document. Manitoba Education and Youth and Advanced Education and Training are pleased to inform you of the publication of Senior 1 to Senior 4 Mature Student Graduation Requirements (2003).

Most of the points are not new changes, but rather are confirmations of changes in policy made previously or clarifications of existing practice. Consequently, this policy takes effect immediately. Simultaneous with the release of the print document, a PDF version of the document is available online.

A limited number of additional copies of the print document will be available from:
