Education and Training has entered into an agreement with selected educational partners allowing designation as a "Virtual Collegiate". This agreement is intended to: ensure consistency and quality of instruction; ensure integrity of Manitoba credits and diplomas granted; clarify responsibilities in assessing and reporting; establish and maintain relationships to existing schools; and keep the best interests of our students as the priority. The agreement provides the virtual collegiate with a Manitoba School Code and allows the virtual collegiate (in specified circumstances) to: directly enroll students, grant credits, issue diplomas, and charge fees for the delivery of a course. A 3-year pilot implementation starts in September of 2014. The goal of the pilot is to provide more course accessibility for students registered in traditional schools across the province, First Nations students, home school students, and others needing flexible course offerings at senior years.

Current educational partner agreements are in place with:

  • Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre for Wapaskwa Virtual Collegiate

Please note that web-based courses are offered at the discretion of the local school/school division.
