Grade 9 German (10G) 1 credit (2006)
Grade 9 German provides learning opportunities in the basic German language arts: reading, writing, viewing, speaking, and listening. It aims to assist students in developing basic oral and written communication skills. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write German at a basic level of proficiency.
Students are provided with dialogues and reading passages to improve speaking, listening, and reading comprehension skills. Students are encouraged to read, listen to German songs, and interact with German-speaking people.

Grade 10 German (20G) 1
credit (1994)
Each module presents the opportunity to practice and improve your communication skills (e.g.,
listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in German. Grammatical
concepts are also studied and explained.
A German-English dictionary is recommended.

Grade 11 German (30S) 1 credit (1993)
This course requires prior knowledge of German equivalent to the Grade 10 level. This course gives students an opportunity to practice communication
skills (e.g., listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
in German. Students will also learn about German culture,
literature, and heritage, and gain awareness of how people
in German speaking countries live, think, and express themselves.
Access to a Tutor/Marker will support the listening and speaking skills as well as other aspects of the course. The submission of a project to the midterm exam supervisor is required. An audio sample is completed during the course and is submitted to the final exam supervisor. The project and audio submission contributes to the overall final mark.

Grade 12 German (40S) 1 credit (2004)
This course requires prior knowledge of German equivalent to the Grade 11 level. This is the final course in the High School German program.
It covers diverse topics such as consumerism, German-Canadian
history, artistic expression, careers, advertising, and
ethical and medical issues of the 1990s. Students learn
grammar and vocabulary, develop listening skills, and are
challenged to use German to express their own ideas and
opinions in writing.
This course focuses on reading and writing. Access to the Tutor/Marker wills support the listening and speaking skills as well as other aspects of the course. Students are required to record and submit audio samples throughout the course that contributes to their overall final mark.
