Schools that register students for Independent Study Option (ISO) courses usually appoint an ISO facilitator to act as a liaison between the student, the school, and our office.
The specific supportive functions that Independent Study Option facilitators may fulfill are:
We appreciate your support and commitment in working with students to make distance learning successful. Our staff is committed to supporting ISO school facilitators in this undertaking.
Please be advised that individual schools may offer more or less support services to Independent Study Option students. These are recommended guidelines.
Students who have access to the Internet are being informed that they may submit assignments electronically if this has been arranged in advance with their tutor/marker and school ISO Facilitator.
As a school ISO Facilitator, you will be asked whether you will allow students to send work to their tutor/markers electronically. This option is not appropriate for some subject areas and permission to submit assignments electronically is at the discretion of the tutor/marker.
If you choose to allow students from your school to forward assignments electronically, (if it is allowed by the tutor/marker) it could expedite the marking process, and it would also reduce mailing costs for students or schools who currently send ISO materials by mail.
