  • Subject code. A 4-digit number that identifies each subject.
  • Subject level. A 3-character code that identifies the grade and level of a course.
  • ISO designation. A 3-digit number that identifies the course version, course option, a textbook, audiotapes, or videotape.

Basic French 7 (2004)

Based on Passeport Français, this course covers components one through four of the textbook, En Route. The lesson material is enriched by oral practice topics so that equal time is given to listening/speaking skills and reading/writing skills. One cassette contains listening exercises for all the tests. Students will record some of their work on a standard-sized audicassette. Other recording options can be discussed with the Tutor/Marker.

Mathematics 7 (2000)

The Independent Study Option is presently using the Alberta Learning Resources Centre courses for Mathematics 7. Please conact the ISO office for further details.

Mathematics 7 is based on the Common Curriculum Framework for K-12 Mathematics: Western Canadian Protocol for Collaboration in Basic Education.

Each module booklet is accompanied by an assignment booklet that is completed after the student has finished reading and doing the exercises in the module booklet. It is structured as follows:

  • Module 1 Number Theory
  • Module 2 Fractions and Decimal Numbers
  • Module 3 Ratio and Proportion
  • Module 4 Patterns and Relations
  • Module 5 Integers
  • Module 6 Shape and Space
  • Module 7 Statistics and Probability

The evaluation is based on assignment booklets completed at the end of each module. The seven assignment booklets are weighted equally in determining a final mark out of 100 percent.

Throughout the course, the student will be asked to perform several laboratory activities (labs) related to the course material. Students will require materials that are either available around the home or can be purchased in local stores.
