Important Deadline Dates

High School Graduates

Deadlines for Graduation in January 2013
To ensure that the marking and administration services are in time for Graduation:

• Course work is due at the ISO office by December 1, 2012
• Exams are to be completed and returned to the ISO office by January 8, 2013.
• Students should have completed and submitted all mail in assignments prior to requesting their final exam.
• All hand-in work and exams must be completed before a final grade will be issued.

To assist our markers in prioritizing their marking:

1. Write in large letters GRAD January 2013 on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.
   OR
2. Write in large letters needed by (and specific date) if you are not graduating but require the course credit by a specific date.

Deadlines for Graduation in June 2013

• Course work is due at the ISO office by May 10, 2013.
• Exams are to be completed and returned to the ISO office by May 31, 2013.
• Students should have completed and submitted all mail in assignments prior to requesting their final exam.
• All hand-in work and exams must be completed before a final grade will be issued.

To assist our markers in prioritizing their marking:

1. Write in large letters GRAD 2013 and the graduation date on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.
   OR
2. Write in large letters needed by June 30, 2013 (if you are not graduating but require the course credit for the end of the school year) on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.
   OR
3. Write in large letters needed by July 15, 2013 for Post-Secondary admission on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.

REMEMBER: Your work arrives in Winkler and is then forwarded by mail to your marker who in turn needs time to mark your work/exam. The Independent Study Option Office will then create your report card and other records. The use of Xpresspost envelopes is recommended as it provides the ability to track your assignment and guarantees quicker mail service.

All Other Students

• Registration Period: You have 12 months to complete the course from the date of registration.
• Assignment Deadline: You should submit all of your assignments a minimum of 6 weeks prior to course expiration date or 6 weeks prior to an established deadline date (i.e. deadline for admission to post secondary).
• Examination Request: Final exams should be written a minimum of 5 weeks prior to course expiration date/date required.
• Examination Rewrite Deadline: Examination rewrites should be scheduled to be written a minimum of 3 weeks prior to course expiration date/date required.
