Important Deadline Dates – High School Graduates

June 2018 Graduation

  • Exams will only be released once appropriate course work has been submitted.
  • All course work must be received by the DLU on or before May 4, 2018 to ensure processing for graduation.
  • Student exams must be received by the DLU on or before May 25, 2018 to ensure processing for graduation.
  • All hand-in work and exams must be completed before a final grade will be issued.

NOTE: Course work and exams received after these deadlines may not be processed in time for the June 2017-2018 school year and/or graduation.

To assist our markers in prioritizing their marking:

  1. Write in large letters GRAD 2018 and the graduation date on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.
    OR
  2. Write in large letters needed by June 30, 2018 (if you are not graduating but require the course credit for the end of the school year) on the cover sheet for assignments and on the front page of exams.
    OR
  3. If you require the credit for post-secondary admission, please consult with the post-secondary institution you are applying to. Communicate this deadline to your tutor/marker, include this information on assignment cover sheets, and plan your exam sitting(s) accordingly. Allow two-three weeks for the tutor/marker to receive your final assignments and exam(s), for the tutor/marker to assess, and for the Distance Learning Unit to prepare the Statement of Standing and Report Card.

REMEMBER: Your work arrives in Winkler and is then forwarded by mail to your Tutor/Marker who in turn needs time to mark your work/exam. The Distance Learning Unit will then create your report card and other records. The use of Xpresspost envelopes is recommended as it provides the ability to track your assignment and guarantees quicker mail service.
