The content on the website is updated weekly whereas this PDF will be updated in the summer.

The Independent Study Option (ISO) provides the opportunity and flexibility for attending and non attending school-age and adult learners to access a wide range of independent study distance learning courses from grades 9 to 12. Learners complete courses independently and at their own pace while having some access to a tutor/marker via email or phone. ISO courses and reference copies of ISO courses can contribute to and add flexibility to education planning and learning in a variety of ways for teachers, parents and distance learners.

In the event that you leave the province on a temporary or permanent basis, the Independent Study Option (ISO) also provides the opportunity for continuing the study of Manitoba curriculum.

The Distance Learning Unit issues the credit to distance learners who successfully complete an ISO course. Grade 9 to 12 courses are available to complete the requirements towards a Senior Years Diploma, Mature Student Diploma or post-secondary admission.

Independent Study Option (français)

The Independent Study Option also offers several courses in French. A complete listing of these courses are found in Option Études indépendantes.
