Celebrating Music in Manitoba Schools—April 2009
While music is an important part of the Manitoba school curriculum throughout the year, its role in education will be highlighted during April 2009 through school and community events that celebrate the skills and accomplishments of young musicians throughout the province. Please visit the Celebrating Music in Manitoba Schools area for details on activities and events in which schools and communities can participate.
Music Month Grants 2009
For the 2009 Manitoba Music Grant program, schools are invited to apply for grants in support of Music Month school projects with a focus on composing, song-writing, and/or arranging. The intent of the program is to help schools engage professional musicians to work with teachers and students in projects that encourage students to express themselves through the creation and sharing of their own music. Successful schools will receive grants of up to $500 to help cover the costs of the musicians, contingent upon the availability of funding. Please visit the Celebrating Music in Manitoba Schools for more details.
