In the K-S4 Agenda for School Success, the department identified four actions to promote collaboration among schools, families and communities.

Further Action:

  • In Fall 2004, curricula information about the Senior Years Technology Program for parents and students will be available.
  • The department is working with stakeholders to revise Advisory Councils for School Leadership: A Handbook for Parents, Teachers and Administrators.
  • A support document entitled Aboriginal Parents and School Involvement: Making It Work is also being developed.
  • For 2004-05, $400,000 funding has been approved to support Aboriginal parent involvement in schools as a strategy to improve learner success.
  • A dispute resolution process will be developed as part of the Bill 13 regulations.
