Manitoba Grants for Education for Sustainable Development
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth and Manitoba Hydro has introduced Education for Sustainable Development Grants to promote professional learning for sustainability in classrooms. The grants provide up to $2,000 to cover expenses, such as teacher release time, professional development, and teaching/learning resources for sustainability education.
Manitoba Grants for Innovation in Citizenship Education 2007
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth wishes to acknowledge innovative classroom or school projects by providing Manitoba Grants for Innovation in Citizenship Education. The grants provide up to $1,000 funding to cover project costs that are not normally the responsibility of school divisions.
Manitoba Scientists in the Classroom Grants
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth introduced Scientists in the Classroom Grants to support teachers in their efforts to collaborate with scientists who agree to engage with students in the classroom. The grants, of up to $1,000.00, cover expenses such as teacher release time for planning, professional development and teaching/learning resources.
For Students
Manitoba Rocks! Garage Band Project 2007/2008
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth is pleased to support the Manitoba Rocks! Garage Band Project. This project provides mentorship for Middle and Senior Years students in rock bands who write original material. Three bands will work with music industry professionals to polish and arrange lyrics and music, record a professional demo in a studio, learn about the music business, and perform live at The Forks in Winnipeg on Canada Day.

For Schools
Aboriginal Academic Achievement (AAA) Grant
The focus of thie grant changed from English language enrichment to supporting a variety of programs that the academic needs of all Aboriginal students.
Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI)
The Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI) is provided to assist school divisions/districts in their efforts to provide intersectoral services for pre-school children (birth to 5 years of age) to increase readiness for school entry.
Early Literacy Intervention Initiative (ELI)
The early literacy intervention funding initiative provides support for three program categories in Grade One.
Education for Sustainable Development ( ESD) Grant
The intent of the Education for Sustainable Development Grant is to support schools/school divisions in their efforts to incorporate Education for Sustainable Development into all aspects of school division and school activities, operations, and programming.
French Second Language Revitalization Program
Any school or school division wishing to revitalize French Second Language instruction and any not-for-profit organization that has relevant instructional support services to offer may apply for funding.

Grants for French-Language Education (Français, Immersion and Basic French)
Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth, through the Bureau de l'éducation française (BEF) Division, has established a financial support system by which grants are distributed to school divisions/districts where a Français or a French Immersion program, or Basic French courses, are taught in one or more of their schools. The grants are intended to be used to cover the additional costs incurred in delivering these programs or courses and not the total costs of educating a child.
Guidelines for the Implementation of the Middle Years Experiential Learning Grant
This grant is intended to assist school divisions with initiatives that strengthen students' connections to school through experiential learning opportunities that help them apply learning to daily life. This grant is intended to provide additional support for existing programming.
Guidelines for the Intensive Newcomer Support (INS) Grant (2006-2007)
Guidelines to help school divisions develop specialized programming for newcomer youth from war-affected or refugee backgrounds with EAL and literacy needs as a result of significantly disrupted schooling. May be used in addition to the EAL Student Support Grant.
Guidelines for the English as an Additional Language Support Grant (2006-2007)
These Guidelines for the English as an Additional Language (EAL) Support Grant (2006-2007) provide Manitoba school divisions with direction for supporting EAL learners. Developed by Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth, the guidelines provide a basis for consistency, quality, equity, and flexibility in the delivery of EAL services in Manitoba.
Manitoba Music Month Grants
Schools were invited to apply for Manitoba Music Month grants in support of Music Month school projects. The intent of this grant program was to help schools engage professional musicians to work with teachers and students in enhancing their musical skills. Successful applicants received grants of up to $500 to cover the costs of the musicians, contingent upon the availability of funding.
For Communities
School and Community Arts Program ![]()
This program is a joint initiative of Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth and Manitoba Culture, Heritage, Tourism and Sport which provides financial support to make arts programming more accessible to communities throughout Manitoba. It provides a single-window access to funding for the: Arts Education Access Program, After School Arts Enrichment Programming for Students and Youth Performing Arts Travel Grant.
