Dr. Nicole Bell

Dr. Nicole Bell (bear clan) is Anishnaabe from Kitigan Zibi First Nation. A mother of five children, she has worked in the area of Aboriginal Education for many years, and has developed a school for off-reserve Aboriginal children, using a holistic, culture-based curriculum.  Nicole currently teaches Aboriginal Education at Trent University in the School of Education and the Indigenous Studies Department.

 

Willie Ermine, Assistant Professor

Willie J. Ermine is a Cree from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation in the north central region of Saskatchewan where he lives with his family.  Willie is an Associate Professor with the First Nations University of Canada and he lectures in the areas of Humanities and Indigenous Studies.  An accomplished and widely read author, Willie’s main interests are in Transforming Knowledge and the Ethics of Research involving Indigenous Peoples.  His other interests also include Cree literature in translation and indigenous systems of religion and philosophy.
