Program Description:
The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation is a non-profit adult learning environment designed to provide relevant programming to Aboriginal adults in the Winnipeg Aboriginal community. The Aboriginal Learning and Literacy Centre believes in building stronger communities one family at a time. The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation offers small and large group instruction, one-on-one, and computer assisted learning. Participants in the program receive instruction in reading, spelling, writing, numeracy, science, and computers. The program also provides opportunity for community development and volunteerism.

Program Description:
The centre offers instruction in courses from Grade 9-Grade 12. Math courses include Consumer, Applied, and Pre-Calculus; English courses include Comprehensive and Transactional. Elective courses include Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Law, Career Exploration, Family Studies, World Issues, Software Applications, and Keyboarding.
In order to respond to the needs and pressures experienced by the adult learner, AEC provides day, afternoon and evening classes run from Monday to Thursday. Summer classes run through July and August. The school offers flexible scheduling, semestered courses, and some modular programming.

Program Description:
The Agassiz Adult Education Centre offers a pre-grade 9/literacy
program that offers adults the opportunity to achieve their
personal literacy goals, enhance their access to further education,
and/or improve their employment prospects.
The Agassiz Adult Education Centre offers a variety of Grade
9 to Grade 12 courses leading to a Mature Student High School
Diploma.
- Offers adults the opportunity to attain a high school
diploma, to gain skills and educational upgrading in a supportive
manner
- Teacher-led classes and one-on-one instruction -
day and evening
- Assists learners to choose pre-requisites and upgrade
skills for College, University, Apprenticeship and employment
opportunities
- Provide learners with career and work planning assistance
- Facilitated Resume Development, Career Portfolio and Interview
Skills workshops provided for learners
- Information on and referral to community agencies
- Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition advising provided.
Provision of high school credits for appropriate prior learning
